One night in the 17th century, Satan visits Giuseppe Tartini in the bedroom of the renowned violnist and composer. A virtuoso violinist himself, Satan plays a darkly beautiful sonata that Tartini realizes is beyond his imagination to conceive or ability to play. But the visitor compels Tartini to probe the dark sources of creativity within himself to realize music he'd never dreamed could exist.
