Brian first discovered acting in college while attending Rice University. His first production was a one act
version of The Monkey's Paw. From there, he left Rice to pursue theatre in a more meaningful way,
that is to say, he waited tables and read every book on the craft that he could get his hands on.
After three years, Brian enrolled in the University of Houston Theatre Program, where he had the
opportunity to work with Jose Quintero of Circle in the Square fame. Mr. Hill worked with several
companies in Houston, TX playing such characters as the cream-faced loon (Macbeth)
and the serial killer, Bobby Gotteson (Triumph of the
Spider Monkey).
From there, Brian relocated to Denver, CO where he was a
founding member of Ad Hoc Theatre Co. Those were challenging times spent living in his office on a mat of
blankets in a converted old church, but it was there that Brian began formulating the ideas that would
manifest themselves as Visions & Voices Theatre Co. Shortly after leaving Ad Hoc, Brian was cast in the
NBC mini-series, Asteroid, playing Annabella Sciorra's
assistant, Dr. Max Jensen.
With stars in his eyes and the mountains of Colorado in his rear view mirror, Brian made the move to sunny Los Angeles.
Success eluded him and he moved back to Texas where he met David Scott Hay, current literary director for
Visions & Voices. One more move to Chicago, several carpentry gigs, various weddings of friends, one
restaurant job, two bars built, and a handful of girlfriends later and here we are creating the dream from scratch.
