David is currently the Literary Director for Visions &Voices Theatre Co. He is the author of the award-winning play Hard Scrambled, Killing Lucifer and most recently the critically acclaimed [The] Violent Sex. He has been awarded two grants from the IAC and last year served as a Playwright in Residence at the William Inge Theatre Festival.

He won Creative Screenwriting’s Magazine’s New Visions Fellowship which allowed him to direct his first feature film, his adaptation of Hard Scrambled, shot on HD, and coming soon to DVD. It stars Kurtwood Smith (That ‘70’s Show, RoboCop), Richard Edson (Stranger Than Paradise), and Beth Grant (Donnie Darko, Speed).

He’s also had a short comic book piece published and had four episodes of his radio drama Mystery Society Theatre produced and aired internationally (while living in the back of his comic book store). He’s currently at work on number of screenplays, two novels, and the upcoming premiere of his new play Fortresses of Solitude. He currently lives with his wife, Ellen, a stage manager at the Goodman Theatre, in Chicago.
